Qin Ruoyao had actually noticed something as well.

This world was different from the one she had lived in before.

Many famous songs from her previous life simply didn’t exist here.Full novel: Transmigrated into the CEO’s Cannon-Fodder Ex-Wife, I Chose to Take It Easy — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She had even joked to herself that if she ever ran short on money, she could “borrow” a few songs from those legendary artists and make a fortune.

What she was really curious about, however, was Director Zhang’s project.

What kind of television drama was he filming?

She didn’t have to wait long for an answer.

A female employee nearby eagerly filled her in.

“I heard Director Zhang’s new series is adapted from a game. A huge IP! They’ve been filming for almost a year already. And my favorite actor, Wu Ge, is in it too.”

Another employee immediately joined the conversation.

“I heard that too! Besides our company’s artists, there are actors from lots of other agencies. The cast is full of handsome men and beautiful women. I just wish Director Zhang would air it sooner.”

Director Zhang noticed the crowd gathering outside the blinds and stormed out to chase them away.

“Don’t you people have work to do? Go, go, go! All of you get out of here! If I report this, your salaries will get docked!”

The spectators dispersed reluctantly.

Soon, Qin Ruoyao was left standing there alone.

The departing employees noticed her unfamiliar face and assumed she was a new hire.

Since nobody dared ask questions, they simply moved on.

Director Zhang noticed her as well.

His hand paused halfway through closing the door.

At first, he assumed she was one of the company’s artists.

But then he frowned.

That didn’t seem right.

There were certainly artists he didn’t know personally, but someone this beautiful?

There was no way he wouldn’t recognize her.

If she looked like this, she should have become famous long ago.

Had the company just signed her?

And if so, why was she here?

This was his office.

“Miss, may I ask who you’re looking for?” Director Zhang asked.

Qin Ruoyao had already been preparing to leave.

Unexpectedly, he addressed her directly.

“I’m not looking for anyone.”

“I was just having a look around.”

She smiled politely.

“Are you one of the company’s artists?” Director Zhang continued.

“I don’t think I’ve seen you before.”

“No.”

“I came with someone.”

“He’s in a meeting, so I was wandering around on my own.”

“I saw there was a lot of excitement here and got curious.”

Director Zhang’s thoughts immediately began racing.

Not an employee.

Not an artist.

Yet someone important enough to freely bring her into the company.

That meant whoever she had arrived with must hold a very high position.

Trying not to offend her, he carefully asked,

“Did you come down from upstairs?”

Qin Ruoyao didn’t hide it.

“From the sixty-sixth floor.”

She was the president’s wife.

Why would she be afraid of saying so?

Having such a useful identity and not using it would be foolish.

Director Zhang hadn’t checked the company group chat that morning.

However, Director Li standing behind him had.

Looking at Qin Ruoyao’s outfit, he suddenly recognized it.

His eyes widened.

“I know who this is!”

He immediately pushed Director Zhang aside and greeted her enthusiastically.

“You’re Mrs. Mo, aren’t you? Welcome! Welcome!”

Director Zhang had been annoyed at being shoved.

Then the words registered.

Mrs. Mo.

The president’s wife?

“Mrs. Mo! Welcome, welcome!”

He hurriedly greeted her as well.

Qin Ruoyao nodded.

Then she asked curiously,

“What were you two arguing about just now?”

“Would it be alright if I took a look?”

She had overheard phrases like “xianxia drama,” “game adaptation,” and “Wu Ge.”

She couldn’t help wondering if it was related to the drama she was thinking of.

The two men looked slightly embarrassed.

Arguing in front of the president’s wife wasn’t exactly ideal.

Still, when they saw her genuine interest, they quickly welcomed her inside.

“Of course.”

“Please come in.”

Director Zhang handed her a folder and began explaining.

“This project is adapted from a game.”

“It’s about a young clerk from Chang’an who accidentally meets the daughter of the Tang Clan.”

“They travel the martial world together, encounter demons and monsters, overcome countless challenges, and ultimately save the people.”

“This type of story isn’t particularly trendy right now, but I believe it will become popular in the future.”

“The special effects and story are both excellent.”

“I’m certain it’ll be a hit.”

“If I hadn’t failed to secure a summer release slot, I wouldn’t be rushing to premiere it next month.”

Director Zhang sighed.

It wasn’t that the songs from the music department were bad.

They simply didn’t fit the drama.

This was his passion project.

He didn’t want to settle.

Qin Ruoyao flipped through the materials carefully.

The title immediately caught her attention.

Chinese Paladin.

The more she looked, the more familiar it seemed.

It felt remarkably similar to Chinese Paladin 3 from her previous life.

And she absolutely loved that series.

She had watched it multiple times.

More importantly, she loved the soundtrack.

Growing up, she had studied piano under her aunt.

Her aunt had often said she possessed genuine musical talent.

She could probably have become a singer or pianist if she wanted to.

But Qin Ruoyao had never been interested.

She wasn’t short on money.

Why take on such exhausting work?

Yet as she thought about songs like Preference, Love Through All Lifetimes, and Never Change in This Lifetime, she suddenly realized something astonishing.

She remembered every lyric.

Every melody.

Every note.

Since when was her memory this good?

She was stunned.

Had the King of Hell secretly given her a cheat code?

Director Li noticed her expression.

“What’s wrong, Mrs. Mo? Have you played the game before?”

“A little.”

“The visuals were beautiful.”

She nodded before asking,

“Does your company accept outside song submissions?”

Director Zhang and Director Li exchanged confused looks.

Was the president’s wife interested in songwriting?

Director Zhang decided to ask directly.

“Mrs. Mo… can you write songs?”

Qin Ruoyao smiled.

“Yes.”

“Would that be alright?”

“You can look at them if you want.”

“If you don’t choose them, I won’t be offended.”

“I just want to try.”

The two men exchanged another glance.

Since she had made it clear the decision remained theirs, there was no harm in letting her have some fun.

Director Zhang immediately agreed.

“If you’d like to try, it would be my honor.”

“May I use a computer?” Qin Ruoyao asked.

“I can write them now.”

The two men nearly thought they had misheard.

Now?

She already had songs ready?

Still, they quickly led her to a workstation.

Qin Ruoyao told them not to worry about her and began typing.

The songs already existed in her mind.

To avoid appearing too unbelievable, she deliberately slowed herself down.

Even so, she finished after about an hour.

That alone stunned Director Zhang.

He had spent the entire hour browsing his phone.

Then suddenly she announced she was done.

An hour?

And not just one song.

Several.

What kind of speed was that?

Director Zhang wasn’t musically trained.

He couldn’t read sheet music.

Normally he judged songs by listening to demos.

Looking at the pages in his hand, he felt completely lost.

Qin Ruoyao immediately understood.

“Would you like me to sing a small portion?”

Director Zhang looked up abruptly.

“You can sing too?”

“Are you a singer?”

She laughed and shook her head.

“No.”

“I can just sing a little.”

“Then please.”

He was both shocked and delighted.

How often did someone get the president’s wife singing songs for them personally?

Taking one of the printed pages, Qin Ruoyao cleared her throat and began softly singing a portion of Love Through All Lifetimes.

After only a short excerpt, Director Zhang was completely captivated.

The melody.

The lyrics.

The emotion.

It felt exactly right.

Before she had even finished, he was already eager to hear the next one.

Without making him wait, she switched to another song.

After another brief performance, Director Zhang was speechless.

When she finished, Qin Ruoyao explained,

“My voice isn’t really suited for these songs.”

“If you want the best result, I suggest finding professional singers.”

“But I’d like some input on the final choices.”

“I’d like to hear their voices first.”

“I don’t want these songs wasted.”

Director Zhang nodded repeatedly.

He had listened to countless songs over the years.

Very few had truly moved him.

These had.

The moment he heard them, he knew.

This was exactly what his drama had been missing.

The melodies matched perfectly with the world he wanted to create.

Without hesitation, he invited Qin Ruoyao to accompany him to the artist department.

If they were going to record these songs, they needed to find the right singers.
