A heavy silence settled over the table.

Xing Mingyuan’s face tightened as he stared straight at Xing Hui, letting out a deeply displeased snort. “Useless thing!” It wasn’t clear whether he meant Xing Hui was useless or Zhou You’s belly was.

Then he continued sarcastically, “I may only have one son but at least I have one. You’re different, if you stay this stubborn, you probably won’t even have an egg in this lifetime. When you die, there won’t even be anyone to visit your grave.”Full novel: When a Straight Guy Transmigrates into an Alpha, He Can Get Pregnant — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Xing Hui replied calmly, “Dad, I have two eggs. Want to take a look?”

Xing Mingyuan: “……”

Zhou You: “……”

Even Zhou You, who had remained cold and detached, was stunned by Xing Hui’s shamelessness.

If he were Xing Hui’s father, he’d regret giving birth to such a filthy son.

“And another thing,” Xing Hui added maliciously. “About visiting graves, if you keep forcing me, I won’t visit yours in the future. I won’t let Zhou You go either. When you get down there, your old comrades will laugh at you and most importantly, my Omega dad will be mad at you. Think about where you’ll put your face then. So, Dad, you should be nicer to Zhou You and me now.”

Xing Mingyuan: “……”

“Dad, are you angry?” Xing Hui looked at his biological father’s expression and asked knowingly.

Xing Mingyuan didn’t want to talk to him but still replied in a yin-and-yang tone, “Anger is bad for the body. It affects one’s lifespan. I won’t get angry. I need to live longer, otherwise, when I get down there, no one will visit my grave.”

Xing Hui smiled. “Dad, your ideological awareness is still very high. You’re right.”

Xing Mingyuan frowned slightly, his expression serious. “Since I’m right, then why am I wrong when I say you should have a child?”

“That’s two different matters,” Xing Hui replied smoothly. “If my Zhou You’s belly could give birth, I’d give you a whole litter.” As he spoke, he turned to Zhou You. “Right?”

Zhou You acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing and continued eating in silence.

Seeing that he didn’t respond, Xing Hui hooked the hem of Zhou You’s pant leg with his foot and rubbed against his calf.

Zhou You put down his chopsticks, straightened his posture and looked at Xing Hui. “Unfortunately, I can’t give birth.”

“So I won’t have a child,” Xing Hui said, turning back to Xing Mingyuan. “Dad, how about this, stop thinking about holding a grandson. You can hold a son instead. Find me a little Omega dad, let him give birth to a few younger brothers. Wouldn’t that be great?”

Xing Mingyuan was visibly about to explode. He suppressed it, didn’t erupt and only glared at Xing Hui. “You…” The rest of his words got stuck in his throat for a full minute and in the end, he didn’t curse at all.

Finally, he had no choice but to look at Zhou You and ask, “Zhou You, tell me, should Xing Hui have a child or not?”

Zhou You looked at him and gave a very obedient smile. It was hard to tell what that smile meant. He simply said, “Dad, you’re right. Xing Hui should have a child.”

Xing Hui’s gaze darkened instantly.

“Then persuade him,” Xing Mingyuan continued, not looking at Xing Hui. “Xing Hui has nothing else in his head. These past years, he’s revolved entirely around you. He listens to what you say. So talk to him properly.”

Zhou You hesitated for a few seconds before saying yes.

Xing Hui sat firmly at the table, unmoving. His handsome face showed clear displeasure, his eyes cold as they fixed on Zhou You.

Xing Mingyuan nodded in satisfaction. “Then I’ll wait for good news.”

Over the years, Xing Mingyuan had become more willing to discuss family matters with Zhou You and let Zhou You persuade Xing Hui afterward. The results were almost always satisfactory.

Naturally, he hoped this time would be no exception.

“All right, you’ve eaten and drunk enough. Go do whatever you need to do,” Xing Mingyuan said as he stood up and left the table first.

Zhou You also stood up, intending to leave but Xing Hui called out to him.

Xing Hui lifted his gaze. “You and Dad already discussed this long ago, didn’t you? You originally planned to talk about it when we came back last night. Isn’t that right?”

Zhou You stood still, didn’t answer the question and only said flatly, “Your family has a throne to inherit. You should have a child.”

This wasn’t sarcasm. Given this world’s system and Xing Hui’s background, saying he had a throne to inherit wasn’t a joke at all.

Xing Hui’s expression cooled, his eyes calm and cold as he looked at Zhou You, though a smile curved his lips. “Then give birth to one for me.”

Zhou You finally looked at him, meeting his gaze directly, emphasizing, “Xing Hui, you and I are both Alphas. I can’t give birth. You, Major General Xing, have power, influence and money. Finding an Omega willing to give you a child would be easy. Why insist on opposing your father?”

“So if you could give birth, you would?” Xing Hui was very good at catching the key point.

Zhou You sneered. “No.”

“That was fast,” Xing Hui laughed and reached out to grab Zhou You’s hand.

Zhou You dodged and turned away.

Xing Hui remained seated, unmoving, his expression gloomy enough to frighten anyone.

After dinner, they returned home. Neither of them spoke along the way.

Xing Hui’s expression was still unpleasant. As soon as they entered the house, he grabbed Zhou You and asked, “Do you really want me to find an Omega to have a child?”

“It’s not what I want,” Zhou You shook off his hand, then felt that whether he wanted it or not didn’t matter, neither father nor son in the Xing family were under his control.

No matter how it went, he was the one stuck in the middle, unable to do right by anyone. So he decided to smash the pot completely. “Yes. I want you to find an Omega to have a child.”

Xing Hui stared into Zhou You’s eyes. Zhou You met his gaze without backing down.

Xing Hui stayed silent for a long time, then suddenly turned around and stormed off.

That night, Zhou You went to take a shower. He closed the bathroom door and had just begun to undress when Xing Hui walked in, grabbed the showerhead, turned it on and sprayed Zhou You all over before he could react.

“What are you doing?” Zhou You shuddered from the cold water, displeased.

“What am I doing? You tell me what I’m doing!” Xing Hui was louder than him. He was utterly miserable, having bottled it up all afternoon since leaving the old house and now he finally exploded. He tossed aside the showerhead, grabbed Zhou You by the collar and growled, “Fucking you!”

In the struggle, Zhou You slapped Xing Hui across the face. At the same time, a wave of lily-scented pheromones brushed against him.

Before long, the scent of roses entwined with the lilies, two fragrances mixing together, thick, lingering, enduring.

Xing Hui made Zhou You cry again.

He kissed the wet corners of Zhou You’s eyes and comforted him in a soft, gentle voice. “Don’t cry.” Then he leaned close to his ear and asked, “If we do it enough times, will we get a baby?”

Zhou You’s eyes were red. He didn’t respond, only turned his head and buried half his face into the bedding, tears flowing again.

The military had an important meeting and Xing Hui had no choice but to leave. He realized that when it came to this matter, Zhou You really cried easily.

Even though he had already been gentle and attentive.

Looking at Zhou You’s swollen eyes, regret surfaced, he felt he might have gone too far last night. His gaze fell on Zhou You’s reddened wrists. He gently held them, applied ointment, then used an ice pack to soothe Zhou You’s eyes.

During this time, Zhou You frowned unhappily. Xing Hui softened his movements again and again, until Zhou You’s brow finally relaxed. Only then did he leave the house.

Xing Hui’s meeting lasted until one in the afternoon. Afterward, several people from the military department went to eat together, since there was another meeting in the evening.

At the table, Xing Hui was clearly in a bad state. Zhou You’s words about finding an Omega to have a child had hit him hard.

“What’s wrong? No appetite?” Colonel Qi Huai asked.

Xing Hui’s face was tense. “No.”

“Then what is it?” Qi Huai said. “Missing your wife?”

As soon as the words came out, the whole table laughed.

In the military department, everyone knew Xing Hui was obsessed with his wife. Even though Zhou You never gave him a good face, Xing Hui shamelessly clung to him anyway, unable to live without seeing him even for a day.

Xing Hui didn’t laugh. His face darkened. “My dad wants me to find an Omega and have a child.” His expression grew even worse. “The problem is, Zhou You supports it.”

As soon as he said that, everyone exchanged looks.

After a few seconds of silence, Qi Huai spoke first. “Commander Xing has his considerations. As for Zhou You… he’s quite sensible.”

Xing Hui’s face instantly turned icy, his gaze sharp as he looked over. “Sensible?”

“…Ah, uh,” Qi Huai scratched his cheek awkwardly. “What I meant is… ah, ” He glanced around for help and finally apologized. “I misspoke.”

Xing Hui didn’t respond. Suddenly, he remembered that the military hospital had once received a case of an Alpha pregnancy. He stood up abruptly. “You guys eat. I have something to do.”

It wasn’t that Xing Hui insisted Zhou You give birth. He just wanted to consult someone and stall the old man for a bit, after all, his father still had several years before retirement.

Zhou You was on night duty in the ward that evening. He slept until three in the afternoon, played with Junjun for a while, then left the house.

After arriving at the ward and changing into his white coat, he called Han Xiaosong.

Han Xiaosong was hospitalized. Xing Hui’s kick had broken two of his ribs. That area was bruised badly, turning dark purple overnight, painful to look at. Fortunately, his heart and lungs weren’t damaged but breathing hurt, so he needed to stay for observation for two days before returning home to recuperate.

Zhou You went to the orthopedic inpatient ward. As soon as Han Xiaosong saw him, his eyes turned red, looking wronged.

Understandably so. The kid was only twenty-one, had just graduated from vocational medical school this summer. To put it bluntly, he was still basically a student and he’d gotten kicked for no reason.

Zhou You was full of guilt. “Xiaosong, I’m really sorry.”

Han Xiaosong shook his head repeatedly. “Brother Zhou, it’s not your fault.”

Zhou You fell silent. After a moment, he said, “I’m… married to him and this happened because of me. Of course I bear responsibility.”

Han Xiaosong pursed his lips. “You’re such a gentle person, how did you end up with someone like, ” He didn’t finish the sentence, clearly not impressed by Xing Hui.

Zhou You didn’t follow up on that. He simply asked, “Have you eaten?”

“Not yet,” Han Xiaosong said. “I ordered a meal box. It’ll be delivered later.”

“I haven’t eaten either,” Zhou You said. “What else do you want? I’ll buy more.”

Han Xiaosong smiled sweetly. “No need, Brother Zhou. I already ordered.”

Zhou You smiled gently. “I’ll see what I can get.”

Han Xiaosong’s family wasn’t well-off. His father was disabled, his mother supported the family by working as a domestic helper. He lived frugally.

Zhou You bought rib soup and several hearty dishes, along with some snacks young people liked and a whole box of pure milk. He also bought himself some vegetables and plain congee.

“Brother Zhou, try the ribs. They’re really good and the soup tastes great,” Han Xiaosong said, scooping up a spoonful and bringing it toward Zhou You’s mouth.

Zhou You couldn’t refuse his kindness. “Thank you, I’ll do it myself.”

He took a sip of the soup. Just as he put the rib into his mouth, a wave of nausea surged up from his stomach. He endured it for a few seconds, then covered his mouth and dry-heaved.
