Kerry, shoot immediately! “Shoot right at my heart, shoot.”
Removing his gloves, Lanrod raised his gaze toward the command platform and spoke after a brief moment. “Very well.”
Valama pressed his lips together. “Then, should I go call Kerry over?”
Lowering his gaze, Lanrod looked at Valama. “I will go with you.”
Kerry quietly followed behind Lanrod, raising his head to look at the slender figure ahead of him, his gaze sweeping over those silver tips of hair.
Silver hair was the most obvious symbol of the Imperial Royal Family.
The surroundings were completely quiet; apart from footsteps, no one spoke a word.
“That male lord, is he alright?” Kerry asked.
Lanrod’s expression remained cold, and he did not answer Kerry.
“Lord Bijefi is currently out of danger,” Valama said.
Kerry glanced up at Valama, then lowered his head and let out a hum. “That is good to know.”
“The medical pod prioritized treating Lord Bijefi’s external wounds on his neck and other areas, but the impact of the Void on his mental domain will still take time to clear away.” Seeing Kerry’s pitiful, lowered head, Valama could not help but say a little more.
Feeling Valama’s reluctance to see him suffer, Kerry gave Valama a grateful look and murmured a word of thanks.
For the second half of the journey, no one spoke again. Aside from footsteps, there was only the sound of light breathing.
It was precisely because of this quiet environment that Kerry increasingly felt a deep, aching soreness throughout his entire body.
Weren’t zerg females supposed to have extremely formidable regenerative abilities? Then why was he still in so much pain even now?
Could it be because his rank was only C-rank?
Dragging his aching body, Kerry continued forward.
Suddenly, however, he sensed that same eerie, familiar aura once more.
Before he even had time to react or speak out, he heard Lanrod shout loudly. “Get back, all of you!”
The originally flat metal ground suddenly bulged upward, and shattered, sharp metal surged forward like razor-sharp blades!
Everyone dodged the attack by leaping aside, flattening themselves tightly against the ground.
Following that, countless wisps of black mist converged into a massive black mud pit. This black mud pool seemed to possess a life of its own, frantically devouring everything in its path.
Amidst the attacks of countless black tentacles, everyone fought back with all their might.
A flash of blue light cut through Lanrod’s hand, slicing the mutant monster in front of him in half.
The silver-haired female’s brows furrowed slightly as his gaze suddenly shifted toward the medical pod not far away.
No! The target isn’t them!
Under such formidable offensive pressure, nothing could possibly block Lanrod’s pace.
Flashing forward at high speed, Lanrod headed straight for the medical pod.
At the same time, Kerry was also struggling to rush toward the location of the medical pod.
Kerry could sense that the much stranger aura was right there at the medical pod now!
Chaos engulfed the surroundings, and nearly everyone was pinned down by the mutant beasts.
“Damn it!” Valama cursed.
He had never seen such clingy anomalies!
These anomalies were not single individuals; they seemed to have no bones, blood, or life, reproducing endlessly and entangling endlessly.
Crimson blood filled the air.
Lanrod rushed toward the medical pod at top speed.
Crash!
Looking at the scene before him, Lanrod’s icy blue pupils abruptly contracted.
His long eyelashes twitched slightly as the young military zerg major stared at the dense mass of black holes inside the medical pod, his gaze slowly widening.
S-rank!
This was at least an S-rank Void!
Directing his gaze inside, Lanrod saw the male trapped within the black blood.
The male’s eyes were slightly open, but those vacant eyes were filled entirely with crimson red.
Lanrod pressed his lips tightly together, his long legs leaping mid-air as his crisp movements struck out toward the surrounding area.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
Countless masses of black flesh morphed into a gigantic form, thick hides pressing the entire entity tightly together.
A silver spear shot straight forward, piercing through countless layers of heavy black flesh and emitting a sizzling sound.
His silver hair leaped in the air, tracing a graceful arc.
The silver spear transformed into a long sword, its fierce offensive momentum surging upward!
After a few rounds, Lanrod had already gained the upper hand, but hindered by the fact that Bijefi was trapped at the very center of the Void, he could not immediately launch an attack on the core area.
Suddenly, Lanrod felt the offensive momentum of the Void shift direction.
Raising his gaze, Lanrod spotted Kerry at the doorway.
“Watch out!” Lanrod called out.
Recovering from his shock, Kerry scrambled to dodge the monster’s attack.
Yet how could Kerry have ever witnessed such blinding speed? Even with every ounce of his effort, he barely managed to evade a few strikes.
Quickly judging position and speed, Kerry tried his absolute best to dodge.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
The sound from behind grew closer and closer, and Kerry’s heart leaped into his throat.
I’m done for! Kerry thought with despair, about to be caught by this thing!
Once caught by this thing, his life would undoubtedly be in grave danger!
Involuntarily closing his eyes, Kerry tensed every muscle in his body in nervous anticipation.
Just when he felt all hope was lost, he was suddenly yanked into a familiar embrace.
A cool, crisp scent enveloped Kerry, shielding him from the raging toxic flames all around.
“Lower your head,” Lanrod said.
Kerry lowered his head, unexpectedly bumping right into Lanrod’s embrace.
It felt reassuring and serene.
Lanrod’s heartbeat was very slow; even in such a critical moment, his heartbeat remained steady and unhurried.
That strong, steady heartbeat transmitted through the cold skin straight into Kerry’s chest cavity.
It instantly quieted the panic inside Kerry.
With one arm holding Kerry and the other attacking the anomaly, Lanrod’s extreme speed caused Kerry to instinctively reach out and wrap his arms around Lanrod’s waist.
Such a slim waist.
Kerry looked up at Lanrod, but could only see the female’s silver hair tips and exquisite jawline.
Lanrod’s fierce offensive did not weaken in the least because of Kerry. His speed was astonishingly fast, so fast that even the anomaly could not touch him in the slightest.
Was this the power of a 5S-rank?
Kerry bit his lip.
He had heard countless people praise Lanrod’s strength, but not until today had he truly felt this terrifying power!
If he had not experienced it firsthand, Kerry would never have believed that such formidable strength could exist in this world.
Under Lanrod’s assault, the creepy black flesh shrank back step by step, forced straight into the corner of the room.
Lanrod set Kerry down and raised his gaze toward the corner.
The Void in the corner showed no fear; it tightly wrapped around Bijefi, seemingly wanting to fuse completely with Bijefi’s bones and blood.
Lanrod halted all offensive actions, handing the silver spear in his hand over to Kerry.
“Listen to my instructions, and then pull the trigger.”
Kerry was stunned. He stared at the cold silver spear in his hands, then looked back up at Lanrod.
“You, what are you going to do?” Kerry bit his lip.
Lanrod’s silver-blue eyes fixed on Kerry as he spoke. “In a moment, I will use myself to swap places with the lord. When that happens, obey my command, and then shoot.”
Kerry was not a fool; he stared intently at Lanrod without speaking.
“A new beginning, this is your chance to redeem yourself through meritorious service,” Lanrod said.
Grasping the silver spear tightly with both hands, Kerry whispered, “Alright.”
The very instant Kerry gave his reply, Lanrod sprang into action.
The young, refined, silver-haired military zerg relied almost entirely on his formidable spiritual power to forcefully carve a snow-wave-like path through the black blood.
A flash of blue light swept past, and before Kerry could clearly register what happened, Bijefi and Lanrod had swapped positions.
Kerry hurriedly helped Bijefi aside, then looked up at Lanrod.
He saw the silver-haired military zerg’s body sinking deep into the black-and-red gore, as those threads of black lines aggressively clawed their way into Lanrod’s body.
The immense agony turned the silver-haired female’s complexion deathly pale.
“Shoot right at my heart,” Lanrod looked at Kerry and said.
Kerry’s fingers trembled, his gaze filled with disbelief.
“Just one shot, I will not die,” Lanrod looked at Kerry, his lips pale.
Unless special bullets were used or three consecutive shots were fired, relying on a 5S-rank female’s supreme regenerative ability, simply being struck in the heart would not prove fatal.
Kerry’s lips moved. “But, won’t it hurt?”
Lanrod paused for a fraction of a second, quietly studying Kerry for a few moments before calmly stating, “Kerry, shoot immediately!”
