Eternal Peace of Yi

This is a story about growth, protection, and redemption in a chaotic world. Fourteen-year-old Princess Chu Xi has never left the palace. She thought everyone in the world lived like her, carefree and well-fed. Not until rebels breached Chang'an did she flee in panic, only to find starving people and a suffering populace. Fourteen-year-old deposed prince Chen An has been trapped in the fallen king's city for over a decade, burdened with the mission to restore his kingdom, yet knowing nothing of the outside world. He says to her, 'I want to bring peace to this land.' She replies, 'Then I'll accompany you.' This is a story about 'growing up'—a group of youths transitioning from innocence to maturity, from avoidance to responsibility, from merely surviving to living for others. It is also a story about 'choices'—some choose loyalty, some righteousness, some love, some death; every choice comes at a cost. 'The Shadow Sword unsheathed, peace under heaven.' Hello everyone, I am the author. All place names and countries in this book are fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. I reiterate, this is an alternate history, not real history, just a novel. This is my first time writing a novel; please bear with any shortcomings.
