New: NovelRecap — your reading, wrapped

Every month now ends with a NovelRecap: how many chapters you read, your #1 novel, your reading streak, and the genre you read most — revealed in a short story you can tap through and share. Your September recap is ready now. Open your Profile and tap Play, or go to novelcodex.org/recap. We'll also email you your recap on the 1st of each month (you can turn that off in your Profile), and a full-year recap arrives every January 1. NovelRecap is built from the chapters you read while signed in, so it needs a free account. Once you're signed in, your reading counts automatically — nothing to set up.

🎉 Now live: built-in translation + raw Chinese novels

Two big updates just went live. 🀄 Raw Chinese novels — now on-site. Thousands of raw, untranslated Chinese web novels are readable directly on NovelCodex in instant English — no browser extension or copy-pasting needed. The first 50 chapters of every raw novel translate free. 🌐 Built-in translation, powered by our partnership with Novel Translate. Open any chapter and translate it into English — or dozens of other languages — in a single tap, right inside the reader. We also shipped a batch of quality-of-life upgrades: far more forgiving search (loose terms now find the right novel even when the title isn't exact), a cleaner genre list, faster and more reliable reading, and you now stay logged in between visits. More coming soon — thanks for reading with us.

New: Catch-up Recaps & Summaries

Behind on a novel? Open any book and hit “Story so far” for a spoiler-free recap up to your chapter — pick a range or just recap the last few chapters. Every chapter also has a searchable summary, and you can translate any chapter into your language right in the reader.

📚 A huge library, free to start

Every novel opens free: at least the first 100 chapters, and on longer novels the first 70% of the book. Create a free account to keep your library, bookmarks and reading progress in sync.
