Mountains and Seas with Sword
by 舟粼
The young man thought of his master again, who said, 'Your temperament is lacking; you are not yet fit to be my disciple.' Was his temperament really that poor? If so, why would he gift such a precious treasure? He thought of his grandfather, an old man in ink robes who loved to lie in a bamboo chair, always fulfilling his wishes and supporting his actions. That old man, seemingly without cultivation, stood proudly and fearlessly before sea demons, shielding him. But had he ever done anything to make his grandfather proud? He thought of the Taoist, knowing full well that the Taoist looked down on him and helped him more for the sake of his master, to retrieve the sword. What had he done to deserve such protection? And the kneeling man in red, who wanted to seize his heavenly vein. And the scholar, who only schemed to trick him out of his ancient jade. Why did everyone think they could manipulate him? Because he was weak? Just because he was weak, did he have to be pushed around? Why? He practiced the sword! The sword is unyielding and unbending!!!
