The Talisman Soldier: Volunteer Brigade

A remarkably successful female leader falls into a Ponzi scheme, loses her mind, and is disfigured during treatment. On the brink of death, her spirit travels through time and space, meeting the Jade Emperor and the King of Hell, receiving a heavenly mission. A high fever erases all words from her mind, but she develops talisman soldiers from punctuation, numbers, and letters. She goes to ancient battlefields to gather loyal, lingering souls and forms her own volunteer brigade. She saves people, fights fires, and alleviates suffering, earning the title of a bodhisattva. She battles street thugs, road bullies, gamblers, bandits, human traffickers, drug dealers, and evil forces, pleading for the people and acting on behalf of heaven.
