Crystal Man of Lingfeng

Set in Shanghai in 1937, the story follows Lingfeng, a police detective with a photographic memory, as he investigates supernatural mysteries amidst the chaos of war. A bizarre murder on Avenue Joffre in the French Concession reveals a victim with missing organs and a blue crystal at the scene, with witnesses describing a "transparent figure." Lingfeng's eidetic memory uncovers clues from encrypted shipping manifests and modified trucks, while physics assistant Bailing analyzes the crystal's energy fluctuations, suggesting extraterrestrial origins. As Japanese special forces and mysterious assassins close in, Lingfeng and his partner Zhang Meng delve deeper into a conspiracy involving a "crystal man"—an alien messenger from a dying planet. Together with Bailing, they race from Shanghai to Beijing, decoding star maps and uncovering the truth behind a meteorite crisis and alien civilization.
