This ruler, who cares for his people but is constrained by old aristocrats, walks alone to the foot of the Taihang Mountains one night, unaware that fate has prepared a cross-temporal encounter for him. Qiu Yingying, a nine-tailed fox who has cultivated for a thousand years and is the last royal bloodline of Qingqiu, has waited for 837 years by the same lake every full moon night—waiting for the Xia dynasty king who once promised, 'When the world is at peace, I will return.' Time passes, the promise remains unfulfilled, until she meets Wu Ding, the Shang king who bears an uncanny resemblance to her lost love.
