Root carving, within the realm of aesthetics, offers people an additional channel and a bit more convenience to get close to nature, understand nature, revere nature, be grateful to nature, and achieve mutual understanding, integration, and beauty with nature through a special path. This is because root carving is not only an art with almost no threshold, not only an art of discovering natural beauty and achieving natural beauty, but also an art related to self-discovery and self-fulfillment. The author has been creating root carvings as a hobby for nearly forty years.
