Sword of the Cloudy Cliff
by 扶南丝
In the late Southern Song dynasty, Mongol iron cavalry presses on the border, the imperial court seeks only temporary peace, and the jianghu is rife with conflicts between righteous and evil factions. The Mu family of Jiangnan has practiced martial arts for generations, but a rumor about a hidden sword manual leads to their massacre by the Black Wind Fort and a Western evil sect. The sole survivor, Mu Qinghe, escapes. Following the dying words of the old steward, he travels three months to the Green Cliff Mountain in Western Shu to seek out his grandfather's old friend, the Cloudy Mist Immortal, hoping to learn martial arts, uphold the Mu family's chivalry, and avenge his family. At the mountain peak, he helps rescue his severely injured senior sister, Su Wanli, from bandits. He becomes a disciple of the Green Cliff sect, and over time, he develops deep feelings for her. He trains diligently in his family's Flowing Cloud Sword Technique and the Green Cliff arts, growing from a lonely boy into a young swordsman. But the jianghu is treacherous; the truth behind the massacre is layered with secrets, enemies close in, and societal norms and martial world rules become barriers between them. Amid blood feuds, conspiracies, and worldly judgment, Mu Qinghe wields his sword to protect her, and Su Wanli stands by him. Together, they uphold chivalry and true love, navigating the storms of the jianghu, forging a legendary tale of life-and-death devotion with their pure swords as their bond.
