Dream of Fudan

This novel chronicles the growth of a boy from birth to his admission to Fudan University at age 18. Lin Xiaoyu, no prodigy, takes an unconventional path: reciting Journey to the West in first grade, reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms at seven, and learning English through Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. These classics build his 'underlying logic'—optimism, historical thinking, and cultural aesthetics. His parents also take him on journeys to famous mountains and ancient battlefields, grounding book knowledge in experience. Later, he studies math and English Olympiads not for competition but to forge thinking and willpower.
