When the Sky Falls
by 泄恨
On the day the sky fell, billions of stars crashed into Earth. Humanity awakened to star power and built a new order on the ruins. Only Lin Ye was a complete waste. Unable to absorb even a trace of star power, he was discarded by the survivor base like trash, left to die among mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Until he saw the revered gods twist and scream in black mist, turning into man-eating monsters. Until he discovered that his hands could purify all the filth in the world. A blind old man leaning on a cane came to him and revealed a truth that overturned all understanding: "The universe purifies itself every billion years. All the gods are fleeing. They hide in the filth, becoming immortal evil spirits. And you, this mortal who cannot cultivate, are the universe's ultimate antivirus." A black stone grew hot in his palm—the only relic left by his missing parents. Su Wan stood behind him, her eyes hollow: "I have seen everyone's death, but your future is a blank." Above the sky, the whispers of the old gods echoed across the ages. They said the sky's fall was inevitable. Lin Ye clenched the stone. Gods could flee. But mortals could not. Because this is our home.
