In the 763rd year of the Shenli calendar, the Yuanji dynasty, which had ruled the continent for countless ages, saw its final twilight. In April of that year, the Yuanji emperor died of illness, power fell into disarray, and the realm was fraught with peril. Driven by new ideas, people across the land took to the streets, and the once-rigid Yuanji imperial ideology began to crumble. The authority of the Yuanji court waned, and regional military commanders assumed semi-independent stances, adopting a passive attitude toward the central court, carving up territories, and sparking conflicts. In August, the southwestern general Shangguan Yun expanded his domain and marched north toward the Yuanji imperial city of Zhaoyang under the banner of 'aiding the common people and eliminating the treacherous.' As the Yuanji dynasty was already a spent force, the imperial city fell without a fight in February of the following year. Thus, the Yuanji dynasty met its complete downfall, and the continent's Yuanji order disintegrated.
