Doctor Under the Tree: Wood's Coffee Shop

Lin Mu, called A Mu by everyone, is a 28-year-old fresh PhD in Marxist theory. After over twenty years of hard study, climbing to a top university, he expected to land a stable job in academia or the government. But his high exam scores were rejected in interviews, academic positions were taken by those with connections or overseas degrees, and high-paying corporate jobs required tolerating capitalist exploitation. Gentle and introverted, with a clear mind and scholarly integrity, he sees through the rat race and class rigidity. Instead of anxiety or giving up, he sheds his PhD halo and sets up a coffee cart on a city street corner, selling hand-brewed coffee. After twenty years of study, he finally makes peace with the mundane world.
