Ascension Sacrifice

Gods are not born, immortals are not self-cultivated; mortals who ascend to heaven are all sacrifices. To become an immortal is to die; there are no immortals in the world, only nourishment. Heaven and earth have qi, qi gives rise to fate, fate gives rise to the Dao, the Dao enshrines gods. Enshrining gods is not granting immortality, but self-sacrifice.
