Seventy-Two Faceless Corpses in the Pagoda

Lin Shen, a forensic expert with Interpol, receives a call from Brazilian police officer Sofia one early morning—a ancient pagoda deep in the Amazon rainforest contains seventy-two faceless corpses dressed in ancient Chinese armor, one of which has fingerprints identical to his own. Lin Shen arrives in the Amazon to find that the corpse's face is slowly growing into his own. The local tribal elder says Lin Shen is the 'Pagoda Keeper,' and the scar on his hand from a childhood apple-cutting accident is not a scar but an eight-hundred-year-old mark. Beneath the pagoda lies an 'Eye' that wants to emerge. Lin Shen must go down and replace it. Guide Rodrigo disappears, Sofia leaves after becoming pregnant, and a mysterious man named Xu Heting appears, claiming to have orchestrated everything. He bears the same scar as Lin Shen. Lin Shen faces a choice—stay in the pagoda and die, or go down and replace the Eye.
