The Prime Minister of Dayong
by 妖泉映月
In the fictional Dayong dynasty, over two centuries after its founding, the empire is at a critical turning point from prosperity to decline: the court sees imperial power weakened, with the empress's relatives and civil officials clashing, the crown prince weak and the third prince ambitious, intensifying factional strife; locally, feudal lords begin to assert autonomy, aristocratic families monopolize the imperial examinations and land, refugees rise, and taxes are heavy; on the borders, the Rouran tribes frequently raid in the north, while Tubet threatens in the west, with military funds wasted and combat effectiveness low. The protagonist Shen Yan, a modern dual master's graduate in history and management, transmigrates into the Dayong dynasty as an unfavored illegitimate son of the Minister of Revenue. His mother died early, and he is targeted by his stepmother and legitimate elder brother, facing a crisis of being framed and expelled from the family from the start.
