Xuan Du Deliveryman
by 隐梧
In Chang'an of the Tang Dynasty, beneath the surface of prosperity lies an undercurrent of turmoil. Spiritual energy is not evenly distributed but converges at specific nodes called "Spirit Orifices." The imperial Astronomical Bureau controls the official ones, while countless "wild orifices" are scattered among ancient temples, abandoned houses, and old wells. Xuan Du Temple, located in a corner of Yongning Ward, is a dilapidated temple with sparse incense. The abbot is a wine-loving old Daoist with only three disciples. To outsiders, it's a temple that can't even pay its rent. But the old well, dry for thirty years, emits faint sounds of flowing water on the night of the new moon. A deliveryman trapped by algorithms finds human dignity in the world of cultivation.
