The Long Song of Xuan Yuan

Ji Mu Xuan Yuan, the hereditary guardian of Zhenyuan City, accidentally kills his beloved Mu Han while resisting the 'Return to Ruin' calamity. Burdened with the dual sins of 'killing his love' and 'abandoning the city,' he resolves to traverse the seven forbidden lands where Mu Han's remnant soul may be scattered, in order to retrieve her and prevent the complete collapse of the Three Realms. Along the way, he faces contempt and pursuit from orthodox immortal sects, as well as constant temptation and encirclement from netherworld forces. Only a few extend a helping hand for various reasons. Meanwhile, Mu Han's 'Heavenly Soul' accompanies Xuan Yuan in the form of a faint soul flame, allowing their love to continue in a deeper, purer way across the boundary of life and death.
