Lantern Opera of Moling
by 宋明运
In a deserted village, white lanterns accompany ghostly operas, and the Yelang tribe conducts eerie weddings. To investigate the strange realms recorded in a notebook, Song Qinghe ventures alone into Moling Village, abandoned for decades. Thirty years ago, bizarre incidents plagued the village: livestock were skinned without blood, the opera troupe leader died on stage, and all villagers vanished overnight without a trace. Yelang weddings, white lantern rituals, and forty-nine nights of ghostly operas—long-buried folk taboos slowly revive in the desolate village. Skin-peeling horrors, midnight opera singing, and sinister wedding customs emerge layer by layer. Between ghosts and deceitful human hearts, a life-and-death game in the abandoned village begins.
