The Thirty-Five Years I Stole as a Substitute
by 强少爷
Chen Ming is an ordinary architect living a happy life with loving parents and perfect childhood memories. Until one day, while sorting through his deceased adoptive father's belongings, he discovers an old diary. The truth is revealed: the diary details a kidnapping case that occurred thirty years ago. The protagonist is horrified to find that he is not the couple's child, nor even the child who was found after the kidnapping. The real child died in the rescue operation, and the kidnapper, out of spite, took a similar-looking baby (Lin Xiaobao) from an orphanage and gave it to the devastated couple. His loving 'parents', fully aware of the truth, out of extreme selfishness and possessiveness, wove a huge lie together, depriving him of his original identity and making him live in the shadow of a dead person for his entire life.
