Shen Zhao, a youth from the northern wilderness, was born in Shihe Village, guarding a desolate ancient temple and a pale immortal candle that never lit. After his father Shen Changling died at Broken Sword Ridge, Shen Zhao discovered that his death was not caused by wild beasts but involved an old case of the immortal sects buried by time. On a night of black snow, the wilderness servants descended the mountain, and the ancient temple's immortal candle suddenly ignited. Shen Zhao picked up a rusted broken sword and cut open the first bloodshed in his fate. From then on, he was drawn into the conflicts deep within the Great Wilderness. Legend says that ten thousand years ago, the immortal path collapsed, the heavens went blind, and the mountains and rivers were swallowed by darkness. Only a single immortal candle once illuminated the true path and revealed the taboo erased by the joint efforts of the immortals. Bearing the bloodline of the immortal candle and wielding an ancient broken sword, Shen Zhao travels through ruined immortal cities, buried sword abysses, the Black Sun Wasteland, and the sleeping divine tombs, seeking the truth of his father's death and the root of the Great Wilderness's lack of immortals. But as the immortal candle burns brighter, he realizes that illuminating the mountains and rivers is not simply about saving all beings. Light attracts worship, but also awakens darkness. And the path he must walk is to challenge the old immortals, the wilderness gods, and the eternal fate as a mortal.
