Epoch of Miniaturized Eternity
by 孤烟暮蝉
In the future, humanity achieves miniaturization, with billions living in droplet-like structures, consuming nearly zero resources. Along with miniaturization comes 'eternal life'—every citizen bears a twenty-star pentagram mark on their forehead; mistakes deduct stars, and losing four-tenths means eternal life vanishes. Ling Che, a model citizen with full stars, is publicly deducted a star for a philosophical debate about 'who I am.' However, the moment the star mark shatters, his sealed 'past life memories' awaken—he was one of the designers of the miniaturization project, and the seemingly perfect 'eternal life system' is actually a cage used by higher civilizations to imprison human consciousness. A mysterious organization called 'Infinite Eye' finds him. This group of 'gray citizens' stops at nothing to overthrow the system, but also sacrifices countless lives in secret. Ling Che refuses to be a puppet of the system or a pawn of the organization. He must recover all his memories before the star mark completely extinguishes, finding a 'third path'—making eternal life a right, not a shackle.
