Zhang Bishi was born into a poor peasant family in Dabu, Guangdong. At 17, to escape the hardships of his hometown, he ventured alone to Southeast Asia. Starting as a laborer in a rice shop in Jakarta, Indonesia, through hard work and extraordinary intelligence, he achieved great success in wine trading, shipping, plantations, and banking, eventually becoming the 'Richest Man in Southeast Asia' with assets worth tens of millions of silver taels. Later, he devoted all his energy and wealth to producing a wine that would make the Chinese proud, practicing industrial救国 and earning the title 'Oriental Rockefeller' from Americans.
