Rebirth in 1985: Starting from Yuying Elementary School
by 自由的风2011
Waking up from a nap, Chen Yuanshan finds himself back in 1985. His dying father leaves him a letter: "The school is in your hands now. Find a way to keep it alive." What awaits him is a rural elementary school on the verge of being shut down—the classrooms leak, the walls are crumbling, the kitchen's rice jar is empty, and the school owes the supply and marketing cooperative over 300 yuan. There are only four teachers left, and not a single student. Everyone says the school can't survive. But Chen Yuanshan refuses to believe it. He takes out loans, recruits students, writes articles, and buys grain on credit, single-handedly propping up an empty school. One by one, he brings back orphans with bandaged arms, a five-and-a-half-year-old little girl, and a dropout rescued from a brick factory. What surprises him even more is that the "Yucai System" he's bound to starts to take effect—the campus environment improves, becoming warm in winter and cool in summer, refreshing and invigorating. The children develop photographic memories, and the teachers are full of energy. A small, dilapidated border school gradually transforms into a "fairy-tale school" that everyone aspires to attend. Years later, someone asks Chen Yuanshan: "How did you turn a school on the brink of closure into a nationally renowned institution?" He thinks for a moment and says, "I just wanted to let him go in peace." — Description from novelcodex.org
