I Am Meng Po, Xiao Mo

Huangquan's Meng Po is named Xiao Mo, originally a wisp of a divided soul left behind after Houtu Niangniang transformed into the Six Paths of Reincarnation. She exists within the Three Realms, yet transcends the shackles of the Three Realms; she dwells among the Five Elements, yet is not bound by the Five Elements. Through countless years, the world only knows that by the Naihe Bridge, Meng Po brews soup—one bowl to forget love, severing mortal ties. Yet few know that she not only oversees the crossing and salvation at the Wangchuan River, but is also an underworld deity who patrols both the Yin and Yang realms. Ferrying souls across the river is her duty; regulating the order of the Three Realms, resolving the countless obsessions of the mortal world, and maintaining the balance of Yin and Yang—these are the missions she bears. When busy, she sits by the Naihe Bridge, slowly brewing Meng Po's soup over a gentle fire, guiding souls to and fro, erasing a lifetime of joys and sorrows. In her leisure, she traverses the Four Quarters of the Three Realms, seeking out wandering lonely souls and vengeful ghosts, dissolving resentful energies that have nowhere to rest. If she encounters a destined person with a clear Dao heart and profound foundations, she will also offer guidance as fate allows, ferrying them along the path of cultivation. The world's impression of Meng Po is only that of a withered old woman and bitter soup. But Xiao Mo roams Yin and Yang, accustomed to partings in life and death, seeing through the entanglements of love and hate. She guards the great Dao of Reincarnation, watching the rise and fall of the mortal world with cold eyes, yet harboring compassion to ferry all beings through suffering. As undercurrents stir at the border of Yin and Yang, and hidden currents gradually rise in the Three Realms, when long-sealed old matters return with the souls of the dead, how will this special Meng Po maintain the order of reincarnation in this realm? — Description from novelcodex.orgFull novel: I Am Meng Po, Xiao Mo — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org
