The Rest of My Life Is Regret for the Past
by 古木风云
This is an urban romance novel about Jiang Xu, a man who failed the postgraduate entrance exam, and his online romance with Li Ran, a woman he met on the internet. After failing the exam, Jiang Xu rents a place in the city and sinks into decadence. He and Li Ran meet in person after their online romance and begin to yearn for a distant island. When he throws caution to the wind and moves to an unfamiliar city to work hard and be with her, his extreme lack of confidence and immaturity cause him to briefly lose this best "white moonlight." After losing her, he drowns his sorrows in a bar and, while drunk, meets the female celebrity Xu Zhao. They have a relationship, but eventually break up. On the way back to his hometown, he meets Wen He, CEO of Yunchuan Technology, beside the high-speed rail. Through a series of coincidences, the two share an enviable life in Shanghai, but he loses her because he can never face himself. Disheartened, he returns to his old family home in Nanjing, where he encounters Su Yan, a female classmate from his postgraduate exam days. Old feelings reignite, and they date for many years, until a phone call disrupts everything and they separate. After much wandering, Li Ran ends up buying the house Jiang Xu rents in Nanjing. The two live under the same roof, let go of their misunderstandings, and finally hold hands. — Description from novelcodex.org
