The Great Ming Demon Suppression Bureau
by 孤峰晓月
In 1398 AD, the 31st year of the Hongwu era, Zhu Yunwen ascended the throne as the second emperor of the Great Ming. Zhu Yunwen proclaimed a general amnesty, and the realm was filled with peace and harmony. The following year, the era name was changed to Jianwen. However, this was all merely a surface phenomenon; in reality, undercurrents surged beneath the Great Ming. Because Zhu Yuanzhang had killed too many people during his reign, the capital was filled with the aura of resentment and malevolence. Demons and monsters sealed within the capital stirred restlessly, borrowing this resentful aura, and from then on, the vassal princes outside the capital each harbored their own schemes. To stabilize the realm and to overawe the vassal princes, Zhu Yunwen established the Demon Suppression Bureau, an agency similar to the Embroidered Uniform Guard. — Description from novelcodex.org
