The Ancient Scroll of All Phenomena: Buried Alive at the Start
by 酸菜盖浇饭
Pinned into a blood coffin by his fellow disciple and buried alive, his blood drained to feed the monster underground. Zhang Danzi crawled out of the blood coffin and snapped his senior disciple's neck. On the brink of death, he used blood as ink to awaken the 'Ancient Scroll of All Phenomena' in his sea of consciousness. From then on, he could imitate and paint gods and demons, borrowing the chains of the underworld and the iron halberds of ancient generals. But the way of painting has an iron rule: each time he borrows power, one finger permanently withers into dead wood. The stronger the power, the faster the crippling. The Ink Sect hunts him, the Painting Ridge besieges him, and everyone thinks a crippled wreck can't stir up trouble. Until, dragging four withered finger bones, he splits the great protective formation of the ridge with a single halberd strike and stands before the dead end of the ancient painting path. Zhang Danzi crushed the blood foam in his mouth and said only one sentence: "I only paint; I will not be a prisoner in the painting. Whoever blocks me, dies." — Description from novelcodex.org
