Dream Domain: Gathering Embers to Cross Tribulation

by 爱星然

Night-shift warehouse keeper Lin Ye possesses a rare obsession-resonance constitution. Using old objects as anchors, he can descend into subspace formed by the obsessions of the dead—residual dreams. Within this dream domain wander projections of unfulfilled wishes, as well as dream-eroding black fluff from the Deep Abyss. The black fluff corrupts obsessions, twisting gentle departed souls into ferocious aberrations. Those who travel between the dream domain and reality are called Ember Gatherers. Ember Gatherers split into three paths: the Dream Seizers plunder obsessions to seize power; the Dream Watchers use seals to control the blight; and Lin Ye chooses the hardest road—redemption. If an obsession can be fulfilled, he grants it completion; only when it is thoroughly corrupted beyond saving does he choose eradication. The last bus, an old carpenter's workshop, an abandoned lighthouse, an ancient opera stage… residual dream instances arrive one after another. He resolves regrets within dreams and brings back dream-domain resources such as Calming Mist and Dream Source Crystals; in reality he maneuvers between middlemen, official inspectors, and the pursuit of the plunder faction. Su Xiao and Zhao Hu join the team one after another, and the redemption-faction squad takes shape. While handling constantly erupting dream-erosion blight nodes, they cooperate with the Dream Watchers on a limited basis, guard against each other, and fight the unscrupulous Dream Seizers. As the black spots of the Deep Abyss keep expanding, the truth of the shattering of the ancient Source of Myriad Dreams slowly surfaces. When all factions gather at the Source Shatter Shoals, Lin Ye faces three choices with heavy costs. — Description from novelcodex.org
