A Guide to Raising a Sickly Prince

by 橙子雨

The newly enthroned Emperor of Great Xia, Jiang Yunzi, was deeply troubled. He had barely settled into his imperial throne when the powerful forces of the southern frontier began pressing down on him, leaving him struggling to breathe. The Prince Heir of the Southern Frontier, Li Ti, held military power firmly in his hands and enjoyed a far reaching reputation for virtue and wisdom, making him a serious threat to Jiang Yunzi’s rule. After being constrained at every turn, Jiang Yunzi raised an eyebrow and came up with an utterly unscrupulous idea. He would send his younger imperial brother, a man burdened with countless romantic entanglements, to the southern frontier in person, ordering him to seduce and break the noble, untainted Prince Heir, dragging that paragon of virtue down from his lofty pedestal! Jiang Yunzi even felt that his own younger brother was not nearly enough of a scoundrel, so he personally wrote him a whole stack of letters, painstakingly teaching him all sorts of elaborate ways to be a heartless bastard. And what a satisfying time he had being one. Truly. Two years later, Li Ti’s reputation lay in ruins, and he was plagued by a serious illness. Meanwhile, Jiang Yunzi sat high upon his imperial throne, basking in triumph and congratulating himself on his success. He had never met Li Ti in person and had simply taken pride in having outmaneuvered him. That was, until the man arrived in the capital with an envoy delegation, his body weakened by illness and reduced to little more than skin and bones. One glance was all it took to leave Jiang Yunzi utterly captivated. Ah. No wonder his younger brother had never been able to forget the man, even after thoroughly ruining him. Jiang Yunzi: “……” It was love at first sight, but by then, he had already committed every imaginable sin against the man. As things stood, there was only one solution: eliminate every last person who knew the truth. In the years that followed, Jiang Yunzi would tenderly stroke Li Ti’s thin, frail back, take him everywhere in search of renowned physicians, and have him examined and treated by one doctor after another. He personally attended to Li Ti’s medicine, cherishing him with every fiber of his being and treasuring him as though he were the most precious thing in the world. Resting in Jiang Yunzi’s embrace, Li Xi believed that meeting Jiang Yunzi was the greatest blessing of his entire life. A scheming yet deeply devoted emperor gong × a composed and refined Prince Heir shou. A terrible gong with no morals and no redemption arc. He really does spend his entire life pretending to be the world’s most perfect, devoted lover, and the shou genuinely believes that he is an exceptionally good man. An absolutely outrageous love story that requires you to strike a wooden fish to keep yourself from losing your mind. But, well, it’s a short story anyway. It’s completely absurd, yet somehow still pure love. (?) Healthy relationships certainly have their own appeal, but twisted love is even more… A niche weakness for the sickly character kink, with truly bizarre tastes. You can tell just from the synopsis how utterly unrestrained this story is. Those who insist on strictly upright moral values, please spare this one! Once completed, it will be added to the short story collection, so you can read it in one go.
