Synopsis: After a cold war with his girlfriend of seven years that lasted half a month, Chu Hui received two pieces of news that were enough to overturn his life. The first piece of news came from the hospital’s medical examination center. The Omega who called him had an extremely gentle voice and said with a smile, “Congratulations, Mr. Chu. Your pre-marital screening has passed. Rest assured, the baby is very healthy.” The second piece of news came from the Federal Citizen Security Agency where his girlfriend worked. Researchers in uniform presented him with all kinds of relevant documents to prove that his Alpha had lost contact while carrying out a secret mission and had most likely been killed. They hoped he could sign the confidentiality agreement as someone in the know. “I hereby solemnly swear: I will devote my life and honor to the cause of Federal Citizen Security, unwaveringly defending the right of all citizens to exist among the stars, regardless of gender, background, or station. Every citizen shall enjoy freedom, dignity, and equal space to live. I pledge to be loyal to truth and justice, to never compromise for profit, prejudice, or fear, to speak for the voiceless, to fight for the weak, to fear no tyranny or oppression, to expose and resist all exploitation of and harm to citizens’ lives. No matter what threats or challenges I face, I will defend the Federation’s peace and order unto my last breath.
