After the Infinite-Flow Demon King Returned
by Chelal
My name is Lin Qingchi. I’m a retired infinite-flow player—I once cleared countless death games. My heart has been tempered colder than an employee who’s spent ten years gutting fish at RT-Mart. After returning to reality, my fortune-telling grandfather said I had accumulated too much bloodshed, so he left me a dollhouse and told me to put down the butcher’s knife and play with an embroidery needle. So I started playing with an embroidery needle. But for some reason, every doll I made with my own hands seemed to come to life. When I was around, they sat in neat rows, perfectly well-behaved. The moment I turned my back, they started swaying left and right, trying to fly off to heaven. One day, I accidentally overheard them talking. “Oh, Nine-Headed Hydra, so you got dragged here too.” “Headless Corpse? What’s going on?” “Don’t call me Headless Corpse. I have a head now—Lin Qingchi sewed it on for me.” “Holy crap, the Demon King Lin Qingchi? Didn’t he already clear the game and leave? Also, why am I missing a head?” “You can go argue with Lin Qingchi about it.” “I’m not going! What if I get chopped into eighteen pieces?” “Then just play the part of a doll properly. If you want to die, don’t drag your brothers down with you. When Lin Qingchi comes over later, remember not to move.” “Wouldn’t dare, wouldn’t dare.” … Lately, more and more customers have been coming to the dollhouse. Rumor had it that strange occurrences were descending all over the world, natural disasters were frequent, and buying dolls from my shop could ward off evil. … One day, the doll stored deepest in my warehouse also started moving. It had blood-red eyes, a perfect face—every inch of its bones and skin crafted according to my tastes. As for its purpose—well, adults understand. A doll that could move was of course a good thing. But this time, the thing inhabiting the doll seemed to be an old acquaintance. The kind of “acquaintance” who’d tried to kill each other. “Lin Qingchi, you’ve lured away all my subordinates.” The handsome doll’s eyes were crimson, its expression dangerous. “You have to take responsibility for me.” — Description from novelcodex.org
