[Dream of the Red Chamber] The Talented Lady’s Survival Manual

Yan Xianzhi has been living inside a novel for thirteen years, and all this time she has believed that she has transmigrated into a life of comfort. She comes from a scholarly family with generations of distinguished officials. Her father is strict yet compassionate, her mother is loving, and her family is open minded and harmonious. Her life in Songjiang Prefecture has been peaceful and carefree, so much so that Yan Xianzhi often wonders whether she is truly lucky enough to have such a good life. Then an imperial decree transfers her father, Yan Hong, to Liangguang for a three year term. With their daughter approaching marriageable age, her parents discuss her future. Since choosing a husband in Liangguang would mean that she might rarely see her parents after marriage, they decide that she should return to the capital to discuss a suitable marriage. After her father’s retirement, the family can then live together again. At the same time, her mother receives a letter from her elder brother. His daughter, Lin Daiyu, is about to enter the capital to seek refuge with relatives, but before going there, she will first visit their household. Because her father is busy with official matters and cannot accompany her, he asks them to take care of Daiyu. Her mother therefore suggests taking Yan Xianzhi with Daiyu when they travel to the capital. But the moment Yan Xianzhi hears the unexpected name “Daiyu”, the osmanthus cake in her mouth drops to the ground in shock. “Who???” She suddenly realizes something terrifying. She has not merely transmigrated into a novel. She has somehow transmigrated into a world that combines two different stories. And the peaceful, carefree life she thought she had been given is about to become something entirely different. — Description from novelcodex.orgFull novel: [Dream of the Red Chamber] The Talented Lady’s Survival Manual — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org
