Synopsis: On her wedding night, Lu Meng hurriedly left for work. Beneath her coat, she was still wearing the dress she’d worn for the wedding toasts, having had no time to change. It was already deep into the night when she finally finished. Only then did she belatedly remember the newlywed husband she’d left behind. Feeling guilty, she was just wondering how to apologize when she suddenly collided with a pair of dark, fathomless eyes. Lu Bofan approached and dropped to one knee, slipping the woman’s delicate wedding shoes from her feet. “Why are you here?” Meeting her dazed gaze, the man scooped her up into his arms and answered in a lazy, unhurried tone, “To take you home.” — Lu Meng had always thought that if Lu Bofan agreed to marry her, it was only to appease his family. At a family gathering one day, their little niece dragged him aside and complained unhappily, “I don’t ever want to be like Uncle and get married just because someone is suitable.” Lu Bofan had no idea where she’d heard such a rumor. He laughed and said, “A lot of couples get together because they’re a good match.” His answer left Lu Meng feeling disappointed for a fleeting moment. She hadn’t meant to eavesdrop and was just about to leave when she heard the man continue, leisurely and unhurriedly, “But when it comes to your aunt, I like her.” From the moment I first saw you, I knew there would never be anyone else. — Description from novelcodex.org
