Takeshi Ryuugamine is a first-year student at Kuoh Academy, only a couple of months away from beginning his second year. For all intents and purposes, he's a normal young man, apart from the fact that almost everyone around him seems to avoid him for some inexplicable reason. His otherwise ordinary life takes a strange turn when he comes across three young men being assaulted by a monster straight out of a horror movie. As Takeshi finds himself caught in the attack, a mysterious belt suddenly appears around his waist, seemingly responding to the danger. Saved from the so-called stray demon by the members of the Occult Research Club, Takeshi is shocked to learn their true identities as demons and of the supernatural world that has existed around him all along. Thus begins a perilous journey as Takeshi struggles to adapt to this new world, survive the dangers it brings, and master the power of his Sacred Gear... along with the malevolent entities lurking within it. AU Note: In this story, Christianity and its associated institutions have been replaced by the fictional Illumina Faith.
