His Obsession, His Redemption
by Angelica2511
“Sign it, Elowen.” Elowen gazed at the divorce documents laid out on the table, her fingers shaking as they grasped the pen. After seven years of marriage, this was Soren Vale's decision for their conclusion. No signs of hesitation. No hint of regret in his gaze. She had loved him for such a long time. She had stood by his side, cared for him, and provided him with a family. Yet, to him, she was merely a woman who had wed him for his wealth and surname. Her heart shattered, but she would not plead. She signed the divorce papers. “I won’t bother you again, Soren.” She turned away from the man she had cherished for half of her life, believing that this marked the end of their tale. But she was mistaken. Suddenly, Soren’s demeanor towards her shifted, as though he had transformed into an entirely different person. The cold husband who had been eager to leave her now attempted to draw near. The man who had constantly ridiculed her, blamed her, and harbored hatred for her was now protecting her. He even regarded her as if she were the most invaluable woman in existence. Elowen was bewildered. “Why are you treating me this way all of a sudden? Is everything alright with your mind?” Soren merely stared at her in silence. How could he articulate that the man she once knew was gone? Could he confess that he had been reborn and granted a second chance? He recalled everything—their divorce, Elowen’s tragic demise, the downfall of his empire, the betrayal, and his own death. It was all due to his misplaced trust in the wrong person. He had distanced himself from the only woman who had loved him wholeheartedly. “I was a fool,” he said. “But I will rectify my mistakes.” Elowen looked at him with confusion and skepticism. “It’s too late, Soren. We are already divorced.” — Description from novelcodex.org
