I AM BARBARIAN
by Dere_Isaac
Victor dedicated ten years of his life to mastering the world's greatest player of a now-obscure game. This commitment cost him his health, his dignity, and the only woman who ever feigned affection for him. Then, unexpectedly, the sun fell from the sky, revealing that his decade of so-called "wasted" gaming was, in fact, a job application. Now, he finds himself ensnared in the body of a barbarian warrior in a realm composed of the very nightmares from that game. This world features monsters that can reduce men to paste, a society that punishes cowards with execution, and a status screen that offers him no cheats, no relics, and absolutely no option to log out. However, it does provide him with a memory that knows precisely how every character in this tale is meant to meet their demise. This includes Victor himself. His only advantages are ten years of gaming knowledge that no one else possesses, and the troubling fact that he remains the same lustful disaster of a man he was in his previous life. He wishes to endure the game's apocalypse, and he also longs for his brooding, scarred, sword-wielding almost-sister-in-law to acknowledge his presence. One of these ambitions is likely to lead to his death, possibly both. Welcome to Gavalon. Try not to die while staring. — Description from novelcodex.org
