Magical Girl? I’m not sure about this.

Join Alex, a burly guy who accepts the class [magical girl] and grapples with newfound powers, accepting the task to defeat the demon queen who has already defeated the [hero]. Most of humanity is subjugated by demon forces that outnumber any force on the planet. In a world where conventional has failed, A magical girl and a flamingo must build a community from a race that is in decline and seek triumph in unconventional ways. Expect a reluctant protagonist that has to come to terms with a powerset that is largely based around cuteness. Expect transformation to be a strong theme.
