My Eerie Family Won’t Stop Pampering Me

by 上苍

When Lan Yu transmigrated into a modern day BL novel, the original owner of this body happened to be in the middle of running away from home. Lan Yu immediately decided to carry that plan through to the very end. Who would willingly go back and become the little cannon fodder used only to move the plot forward? Until one day, when he pushed open the door of his tiny rental room and instantly froze. The wide expanse of a red and black sky and a colossal mansion appeared inside what was originally only a ten square meter rental space. Something enormous, pitch black and impossible to see clearly, even its outline, was sprawled over the roof of the mansion. It extended one rotting hand toward him. On the palm rested a small cake with a single candle burning with cold blue flame. “Welcome home. Your parents prepared a dessert for you.” Lan Yu stood in complete stupor. This was supposed to be a normal modern day BL novel. Where was his peaceful ordinary romance? Lan Yu asked cautiously, “If I… run away from home again, what will happen?” His parents replied gently, “Don’t do that, sweetheart. If you try to leave again, you might as well die.” Lan Yu made a strangled noise. “…Hic.” — At a department gathering, Lan Yu sat obediently and said, “My family requires that I’m not allowed to drink.” “You’re the newest one in the entire department. If you don’t drink, are we supposed to drink while you just watch us?” Lan Yu hesitated and drank a little. The next day, the department supervisor suddenly called in sick for no clear reason. No one noticed that Lan Yu’s complexion was just as pale. Last night, Lan Yu had personally watched one of his ghostly elder brothers, who didn’t even have a proper physical form, more like a mass of rotting sludge, crawl through the supervisor’s phone to “talk things out.” The supervisor’s shrill, terrified scream still echoed in Lan Yu’s ears. —– “Got your salary? Shouldn’t you treat me, the one who introduced you to the job?” one of the few friends he had asked. “My salary has to be handed over to my parents to manage,” Lan Yu replied. “What? You’re that old and they still control your money? You can’t even treat a friend without asking permission?” Lan Yu blinked earnestly. “But I can apply for permission.” Three days later, the two of them walked out of a lavish, gold and crystal high end restaurant. His friend stood with him at the hotel entrance, weak kneed. “Just looking at the number of digits on that menu made my legs go soft. Do you even have enough salary for this?” Lan Yu answered honestly, “I don’t know. My older sister paid.” His friend stared at him, life collapsing. “Are you… a rich second generation?” Lan Yu stared back, equally confused. “Possibly? Maybe? Could it be?” —- After his real biological relatives finally found him, Lan Yu learned that the original owner’s family wasn’t an eerie supernatural household at all. From the very beginning, the identity he entered with was never that of the family’s youngest son. He had been brought in as the youngest son’s future partner? Lan Yu stared blankly at his own shadow on the ground as his fiancé, the World’s Shadow itself, drew a simple smiling face and placed it over the shape of Lan Yu’s shadow. A loving smile, meant only for his beloved. — Description from novelcodex.org
