One Piece: I Never Wanted to Be a Pirate
by chakraflow789
I didn’t die heroically. I got struck by lightning walking home from work. I woke up alone on a nameless island, three months, no name, no Devil Fruit, no plan — just fish hooks and the garbage that washed ashore. My only goal was to survive long enough to open a noodle stand near Marine Headquarters and die of old age, not a cutlass wound. Then a barrel washed up with a fist inside it. That fist belonged to Monkey D. Luffy. I never asked for his name. I definitely never asked to join his crew. But here I am — the only mechanic on a pirate ship, holding a Devil Fruit power I barely understand, surrounded by a swordsman who settles debts with a blade, a thief who’d sell my soul for spare change, and a captain who treats “I’ll become the Pirate King” like it’s a fully formed business plan. I never wanted to be a pirate. Nobody on this ship seems to care. — Description from novelcodex.org
