Reality Programming Association

The torrential rain in Jiangcheng has lasted for months, concealing many unsettling anomalies. Yu Xian begins to suspect he is ill: people around him vanish one after another; cases of “smiling su*cide” continue to surface; habits and memories no longer align; strangers online share the same dream; a university professor dies under mysterious circumstances. …The rain grows heavier and heavier, turning the city into isolated “islands.” Floodwaters surge. Rumors of a “man-made rainstorm” spread wildly, vaguely pointing fingers at scientific research institutions. An audio recording titled “Midnight Bus” spreads like a plague across the campus, even as networks and communications collapse. It can pull listeners into lucid dreams. …This is a story set in a long rainy season, about the search for the truth of the world.
