The Amnesic Prince Regent Is Forced to Seek His Wife
by Unknown
Waking up in a dilapidated house, Zhao Si was told by the village head to travel fifteen miles east of the village to find her wife. Thus, she acquired a wife of otherworldly beauty. Her beautiful wife pinned flowers in her hair and painted her eyebrows, teaching her how to appreciate tea and recognize characters. Zhao Si could only think: Exquisite. Months later, Zhao Si received a farewell note from her beautiful wife, stating only that there were matters within her clan and that she would return shortly. Later, unable to wait for the return of her wife, Zhao Si journeyed to the capital, only to receive a staggering piece of news: her beautiful wife was already another man’s wife, having been the renowned Princess Consort of the Prince Regent for years. Dejected, Zhao Si prepared to return home, but before she could leave the city, she was intercepted by the Princess Consort’s close maid, who said, “The Princess Consort is afflicted with an eye ailment. Would the young lady be willing to attend to her personally?” Yun Qing was celebrated as the greatest beauty in the capital. Upon reaching adulthood, she was sent into the Prince Regent’s Manor to become the Princess Consort. The Prince Regent treated her with affection, yet they remained childless. Yun Qing was utterly baffled until the third year of their marriage, when the Prince Regent traveled incognito, encountered bandits, and lost her memory. Only then did Yun Qing discover that her husband was, in fact, a woman. Later still, Zhao Si recovered her memories, ascended the imperial throne, and hand-in-hand with Yun Qing, accepted the homage of all officials, conferring upon Yun Qing the title of Empress. Empress Yun Qing unfolded the letter of divorce she had received on their wedding night and showed it to Zhao Si. Emperor Zhao Si snatched the letter of divorce, tore it to shreds, styled and painted Yun Qing’s eyebrows with her own hands, and then presented a portrait of Yun Qing, which she had personally mounted and framed, for Yun Qing’s appraisal. Yun Qing only remarked, “Acceptable. More practice is needed.” Zhao Si feigned grievance and anger. Yun Qing relented, “Then go practice on the bed.” And so, joyfully, Zhao Si swept Yun Qing up horizontally in her arms and rushed toward the bed. — Description from novelcodex.org
