The Fire Of Divinity
by DMadLord
The Obsidian Maw was endless and was always growing by consuming worlds. This was the first lesson that Alex, a reincarnated soul from Earth, learned when he found himself reborn in the Obsidian Maw. The second lesson he learned was that without a powerful Tyrant, a race or a group of people could only be at the bottom of the food chain in the Obsidian Maw, fit to be food for others, and at best eeking out a living between the teeth of the mighty. The third lesson he learned in the abyss was that there were four privileges in life, which were power, freedom, safety, and longevity. In no time, he learned that he could only use two out of the four privileges, and sacrifice the remaining two to afford the first two. To pick power and freedom was to decide to become a Tyrant. To prioritize power and longevity was to become an Apostle. And lastly, to seek safety and longevity was to be employed as a Drone. The decision of which of the four perks he wanted to use was non-negotiable. He had to pick two and sacrifice two, or someone would pick for him, which would automatically make him food for his betters. So he had to pick two of four options, and he could only combine them in three ways. Life in the Obsidian Maw was like that, constrained and difficult. The Obsidian Maw always forced people to make sacrifices or be sacrificed, regardless of age and sex. Fortunately, Alex was far from helpless. He had The Life Forge in his soul to help him bear the consequences of his choice and the choices the Obsidian Maw forced onto him. — Description from novelcodex.org
