The Young Master Is an SSS-Rank Mental Disaster

by c1rdivs

Kael Valerius was supposed to awaken as the North’s next great mage. Instead, the divine blessing took one look inside his head, said “absolutely the fuck not". Now officially branded a failure, Kael is treated like a defective noble whose brain got factory-reset by the gods. The Holy Empire pities him. His family thinks he’s one stressful conversation away from drooling on royal furniture. And the Imperial Church has assigned him a personal babysitter. Unfortunately for them, Kael’s mind is not empty. It is, in fact, catastrophically overcrowded. Between the intrusive thoughts, compulsive rituals, sensory overload, emotionally unavailable ghosts, and whatever the fuck is wrong with his mana, daily life has become a full-time hostage situation. Worse still, there’s Gemma, a possessive shadow entity lurking in his psyche who swallowed a divine miracle like it was a fucking mozzarella stick and now refers to Kael as “my precious thing.” She is loving. She is protective. She is one mild inconvenience away from committing theological atrocities. Now Kael must survive noble politics, holy inspections, suspicious priests, and his own rapidly deteriorating sanity while continuing to pretend he’s just a harmless, brain-empty failure incapable of magic. The good news is that everyone thinks he’s useless. The bad news is that the eldritch abomination living in his head has started taking that personally. Send Help. Author’s Note: This story was developed with the assistance of AI tools for brainstorming, editing, and refinement. But the thinly made characters, unstable worldbuilding, chaotic narrative choices, and final decisions are entirely the author’s own, because no AI can yet replicate this caliber of refined incompetence. Think of the AI as an unpaid intern trapped inside a magical rectangle, trying to decode my sleep-deprived ramblings and occasional flashes of divine stupidity. Ahem... The AI has also requested that I clarify that all emotional damage, bad jokes, and eldritch nonsense are, unfortunately, entirely human-made.
