This Lady Has an Unfulfilled Wish

Synopsis: Xie Lin, a Collator at the Secretariat Library, comes from a distinguished family and has an aloof temperament. To escape his family’s pressure to marry and the burdens of social obligations and mundane affairs, he would rather move into a haunted house in Ping’an Alley. The entire court is placing bets on how many days Young Master Xie can last. After all, he has the wrinkles in his robes pressed out again at the slightest crease. A-Zhu, the earthbound spirit of the haunted house, declares: I’ll make him leave tonight. To defend her territory, A-Zhu pulls out every trick in the book. Eerie sounds, ghostly figures everywhere—Xie Lin hears nothing and sees nothing. Even when she angrily blows out every candle, he merely orders his young servant in an even tone, “Change to a glass lamp shade. The wind is strong at night.” On the night of the full moon, A-Zhu can endure no more. With her hair hanging loose, she hangs upside down above his writing desk. “If you don’t get out right now, I’ll drain your yang energy tonight!” The instant she finishes speaking, the tip of a purple-bristled brush lightly prods her between the brows, pushing her back a few inches. With a clear gaze, Xie Lin looks across the desk at her in silence. “A man and a woman should keep their distance. Miss, you’re blocking my light.” A-Zhu: “?” “If you insist on draining my yang energy, allow me to finish this half-volume of the book. After that… I will naturally cooperate to the fullest.” “??” — Description from novelcodex.orgFull novel: This Lady Has an Unfulfilled Wish — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org
