Underworld: I Graft Stolen Bloodlines

Every vampire in the coven inherits exactly one bloodline. He can wear several at once, badly. The Sanguine Lattice appraises blood on sight — lineage, generation, what it can do — then grafts a strand of it into him. Two are manageable. Holding a vampire strand and a Lycan strand together builds Strain, a fracture-line crawling up the vein-map until a graft rejects in the middle of something that matters. Zoran Vukovic authenticated provenance for a living before he woke a fledgling inside a six-century war. He reads a bloodline the way he used to read a chain of custody. Vitae refills only by feeding, and Lycan blood is intoxicating enough to spike the Strain it was meant to fund. One heraldic line stays redacted. It is counting how much borrowed lineage the Lattice has made him carry. — Description from novelcodex.orgFull novel: Underworld: I Graft Stolen Bloodlines — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org
