In the late years of Empress Wu Zetian of the Great Zhou dynasty, the succession to the throne becomes the focal point of contention between the Wu clan and the Li Tang family, with various forces stirring. Deputy Commander of the Inner Guard, Dugu Shuo, is inadvertently drawn into the conflict and subsequently trapped in a conspiracy orchestrated by multiple factions, forced onto a path of no return.
