Boundaries of Power

Meng Xin stands in the dock, once the deputy director of the Shangjiang County Public Security Bureau. Su Yue, working as a migrant worker in the south, sees the restaurant owner trying every means to curry favor with the district mayor for business. Su Yue gradually matures and encounters love, but her boyfriend Tang Jun is arrested. Soon, Su Yue meets her childhood friend Qin Li, and they get married. However, marriage is a gamble; Qin Li has an affair. At her father's urging, Su Yue goes to Shangjiang County, finds Jiang Feng, whom her father saved during the great earthquake, and through him meets Meng Xin. The relationship between Meng Xin and Su Yue grows closer, and his stance changes. He uses his position and resources to help Jiang Feng resolve many major troubles. Soon, Shengwei Group is found to be involved in smuggling counterfeit currency, and the suspect is Su Yue's half-brother Su Jun. Su Yue accompanies Meng Xin on a business trip to Pingzhou, where she encounters Tang Jun's sister Tang Min and hears an unimaginable truth: Tang Jun is a police officer, an undercover agent. The political scene changes rapidly. Meng Xin knows he has committed crimes and begins to seek a way out. When he turns himself in, he feels relieved. He knows this is his only way back.
